Oh noes! Martians are Attacking!

My most recent work has been drawing Martians. Cute, evil little Martians. It's been loads of fun and I'm using more glitter on these then ever before! These are for Topps for the Mars Attacks Heritage Sketch Cards set. There are more in the "Sketch Cards" folder on the left...

Bad Guys and Birthdays

It's my birthday today! I am now 365 days away from turning the big 4-0!  

And in celebration of my happy day, I'd like to share these little cuties will be stuffed in special card packs and only available at the 501st party at Star Wars Celebration 6! Sadly I won't be attending CVI this year, but if you go, you could pull one of these!

Just finished!

Just finished an adorable long cartoon featuring some favorite characters from the movie "Star Wars The Phantom Menace". I'll be eventually drawing all 6 movies this way and might make some prints. Hope you all like it!

Finding your path

There comes a point in everyone’s career when they have to look at where they’ve been and where they want to go and make a few changes.  I’m at such a turning point now.  I have been freelancing for quite a while and I do enjoy it but sometimes I feel overwhelmed and out of focus.  There are always too many things to do and never enough time to do them.  I have to streamline things a bit and narrow down the things that I want to do and the things that I have to do. 

I made a list of all the things I love to do: (in no particular order)

Crochet little critters (including licensed characters and my own designs)

Knit practical items (scarves, bags, covers etc)

Paper crafts (bookmarks, paper pins, cards, scrapbook papers, stickers, etc)

Cartoons (my own characters, fan art pieces, line art, scrapbook and crafting images, personal commissions, etc)

Children’s books (my own stories and others)

Crafting books (new venture…writing pattern books!)

Crafting…this is the one that keeps me up at night with great ideas (clay molding, beading, mixed media, sewing…its endless!)

So now that I’ve narrowed down my list, I need to work out a schedule that allows me time to be creative and productive.  I have spread myself too thin for too long and it makes the creative process more stressful and unproductive.  I truly enjoy working for small companies and the occasional larger ones but focusing on my own product line and creative ventures has to be my new focus. 

So for the next few weeks, I'll be creating some amazing new things and sharing them as often as I can on my website, facebook, twitter, my online shop and pretty much anywhere else I can in the virtual world!  Hopefully it will help me stayed focused, productive and most of all creative!  

** I am still hoping to do a daily artcast but may need to change the time from afternoon to morning.  I think 10am to noon would work better for me and hopefully my regular watchers will still be able to watch.  I may start doing more than just flat art too, sewing, clay molding, beading...all the fun stuffs!

Now back to your regularly scheduled broadcast...

As many of my followers know, I used to do a twice weekly evening (est) art cast.  Well with all the hub-bub going on in my life over the past year, I got out of that habit.  So I'm hear to say "I'M BACK BABY!"  I've started doing a normal daily show every day from 1-3pm (est) and I do so love a daytime art cast but sadly many of my followers are "day workers" and can't watch.  So I will be starting back to night time art casts...TONIGHT!  I know, I know you can't contain your excitement...me either!  And to kick off this new schedule, I'll be drawing everybody's favorite Star Wars sex symbol... Snow Bunny Padme!  And yes she will be in my adorkable sexy cartoon style and her boobs will be way bigger than the actress's (You're welcome!).

So I've wanted to try this for a while but never got around to it...til now!  I'm going to offer a piece of art for sale on facebook. I will show it off and give it a "starting price" and let the bidding begin. I will leave the piece "up" for 24 hours and the top bidder wins.
