Happy Thanksgiving!
I have a lot to be thankful for this year but I will narrow it down to the top 5...
5. My Job. I am so thankful to have my dream job. It may not be glamorous or make me a million but I get to do what I love and share it with people who love what I do. It is amazing.
4. My Fans. Without you I wouldn't wake up every morning ready to create adorkable art and stuffs. Every time someone tells me my art made them laugh or smile or happy, I am overwhelmed. Thank you for the support and encouragement and for following me where ever my silliness leads us!
3.My Family. My Mommy, Daddy and Big Brudder Bob. They are always here, there, or wherever I need them. They have helped me through the dark times and shared in the giggles, tears and hugs. I love them oh so much.
2. My Son. He's creative, amazing, loving, hilarious, cuddly and my everything. He is becoming a wonderful young man and has helped make me a stronger person.
1. My Jeffy. He came into my life exactly when I needed him. He's given new meaning to love, trust and commitment. He's helped me to believe in myself, he's extra cuddly wuddly, he's my best friend and he makes me laugh. A lot.
I wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving and I hope it is filled with family, friends, food and fun!

Great news! Sweeten Village The Book is now available to buy on Amazon! The holidays are coming and nothing says Happy Holidays like Zombie Gingerbread Men, Vampire Cupcakes and Werewolf Donuts!
You can also buy the book from my Etsy shop and there's all sorts of other fun things there too...
I've been very busy sewing and sewing and sewing over the past few weeks and have loved every minute! I started sewing when I was little. My mom taught me how to use her old Singer table model and ever since, I've enjoyed making stuff. Curtains, clothes, crafts and my personal favorite...dolls!
Recently I was approached by a friend and fellow cartoonist, Jamie Cosley, who asked if I could make his character into a plush doll. I was super excited to do this not only because Jamie is a great guy and friend...but it was chance to take two of my favorite things "sewing" and "cartoons" and combine them! So here are a few photos of Jamie's doll "Cody The Cavalier". Please check out Jamie's site and enjoy his clever cartoons and see for yourself just how cute Cody is too!

Now under the term "sewing" I also mean crochet and knitting too. So here's a few photos of the latest crocheted doll that has become very very popular. I hope my hands can keep up with the response of people wanting their very own "Doctor Who #10" doll!
So I guess I should stop blogging and get back to sewing!
My Etsy shop is filling up! I am slowly adding all the newest things I have created over the past year. I've listed everything from Paper Pins to Crocheted Dolls and coming really soon...Paper Jewelry! I am also working on some very adorkable phone, tablet and e-reader covers/pouches. Very cute. Very geeky. Very Adorkable! So be sure to come back to my shop regularly so you don't miss a thing! Click the banner below to go directly to my shop and see with your own little eyeballs. And please feel free to repost and share with your friends. Oh and also "like" my facebook fanpage for even more updates.
PS Also coming to my Etsy shop in the next few days... Sweeten Village the Book!
As hard as it is for me to believe...My little baby boy is starting high school tomorrow! Where has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday we were snuggling on the couch watching tv...oh wait, that is exactly what we did yesterday! But even though he is still my baby (who is 5 inches taller than me now) he is growing into a great young man. I'm a very proud Mama!
So as he goes off to experience his first day of Freshman year, I'll be sitting in my studio (crying!) and working on a new schedule. I've had a lot of time this past summer to work on new items for my Etsy shop and time decide exactly what it is I want to do with my arts and crafts background. The decision wasn't hard, but getting the perfect balance in my schedule is super duper difficult. I want to create. I want to create everything. I want to create everything and be successful. So where do I begin? Writing out my schedule of course!
I will begin this week tomorrow. And here's a sample of what my weeks will look like for the foreseeable future. Busy is an understatement! Oh and I'm sharing my schedule not just to show what I actually do (no, I'm not showing off) but also to force me to own my schedule. For too long I let small things get in the way of bigger things and end up working long days and filling my weekends with work instead of relaxing. I hope by following a new schedule and knowing that others will see it will keep me on track and get all the things accomplished that I truly want to do.
Monday: Digital Day/Make up Day
all things businessy (email, marketing, website updates, business management, etc) when that's finished, move on to projects not finished the week before
Tuesday: Comics Day
work on Sweeten Village comic strips and book related art, draw new original art for print, design, sale, crafting, etc
Wednesday: Commissions and Cartoons Day
work on all outstanding commissions, draw new original art for print, design, sale, crafting, etc (including paper crafting, cutting, gluing, etc)
Thursday: Children's Book Day
work on kid's books
Friday: Children's Book Day
work on kid's books
All evenings will be consumed with yarn and all things sewing crafty goodness and weekends will be used for back up when necessary.
This is the schedule I will follow for the next 2 months or until projects are thinned out and time is freed up for other work. Now I just have to follow the rules! Oh and in November...I'll be finishing my first NOVEL!
Now I'm taking my kid to lunch and going craft supply shopping...
