Finding your path

There comes a point in everyone’s career when they have to look at where they’ve been and where they want to go and make a few changes.  I’m at such a turning point now.  I have been freelancing for quite a while and I do enjoy it but sometimes I feel overwhelmed and out of focus.  There are always too many things to do and never enough time to do them.  I have to streamline things a bit and narrow down the things that I want to do and the things that I have to do. 

I made a list of all the things I love to do: (in no particular order)

Crochet little critters (including licensed characters and my own designs)

Knit practical items (scarves, bags, covers etc)

Paper crafts (bookmarks, paper pins, cards, scrapbook papers, stickers, etc)

Cartoons (my own characters, fan art pieces, line art, scrapbook and crafting images, personal commissions, etc)

Children’s books (my own stories and others)

Crafting books (new venture…writing pattern books!)

Crafting…this is the one that keeps me up at night with great ideas (clay molding, beading, mixed media, sewing…its endless!)

So now that I’ve narrowed down my list, I need to work out a schedule that allows me time to be creative and productive.  I have spread myself too thin for too long and it makes the creative process more stressful and unproductive.  I truly enjoy working for small companies and the occasional larger ones but focusing on my own product line and creative ventures has to be my new focus. 

So for the next few weeks, I'll be creating some amazing new things and sharing them as often as I can on my website, facebook, twitter, my online shop and pretty much anywhere else I can in the virtual world!  Hopefully it will help me stayed focused, productive and most of all creative!  

** I am still hoping to do a daily artcast but may need to change the time from afternoon to morning.  I think 10am to noon would work better for me and hopefully my regular watchers will still be able to watch.  I may start doing more than just flat art too, sewing, clay molding, beading...all the fun stuffs!

Commission list is OPEN again!

After a few very busy months, I'm finally ready to take on some commissions and get back to some serious doodling!  There have been some exciting things happening with my art and crafts and I've decided to open an internet shop (Coming Soon) where I can sell directly to my fans!  I will be slowly posting Artist Proofs, Original Art, Limitied Edition Prints, Sketch Cards, Mini Clay Crafts, Stuffed Critters, Knit Crafts, Paper Products (scrapbooking papers, greeting cards, stickers, etc...) and Jewelry.  See I told you I've been busy!  And for all your knit/crochet fans, I may start selling patterns for my knit and crochet products!

So if you're interested in a commission...here's the deal:

Full color sketch cards (one or more characters) $20

5x7 full color bust or pinup (one character)  $30

6x6 full color cartoon (anything goes) $30

8x10 full color pinup (one character) $50 

*additional prices added for larger pieces needing more characters or backgrounds

*shipping and handling charges $2-USA, $5-International

HeroesCon 2011!!

I will be heading out to Charlotte NC today to enjoy the company of nerds, dorks and geeks at HeroesCon! This will be the largest con I've ever done and I hope I am bringing enough stuff and that enough people want to buy it! 

I created a new Star Wars inspired comic with Panda Bears as the main characters...it is awesome!  If you are going to Heroes you can find me at table SP-30 I'll be sharing it with the fabulously talented and adorable Danielle Soloud and my wonderful writing partner Brad Duncan will be there as well!  Come say Hi and grab some art!

Sweeten Village is a webcomic that I've been illustrating since last winter.  It is wonderfully written by my dear friend and awesome creative partner Brad Duncan and full of fun, cuteness and even a bit of scary stuff!  Check it out and be sure to stop by the Chronicles and follow along with the characters' stories!

new year, new name, new life, new art!

 2010 ended with a slow fizzle. It is a year that I will try not to look back on, although many good things happened and many doors opened, it was the year my marriage ended and my new life was forced to began.  So to dwell on the misery would ruin the happiness I started to enjoy at the end of the year...onward and upward!  In the past few months I've worked on some great projects; "Star Wars Galaxy 6" for Topps, a few really fun sets for Cult-Stuff "Monsters, Zombies and Freaks" and "Age of Sorcery" and "War of the Worlds".  I became the cartoonist on a fun webcomic "Sweeten Village" with the wonderful writer Brad Duncan, I've shared my doodles at a bunch of conventions and continue to take on commissions.  

In order to catch up with my website, I'll be posting new artwork daily!  Please feel free to enjoy my work and if you are in the market for a commission please email me and let me know what I can draw for you!

I promise to keep up with my site and post new work more frequently and of course keep you all up to date on this rollercoaster I call my life!

Introducing the webcomic "Sweeten Village"
